May 11, 2011 ~ Ethan's Last Preschool Field Trip

Ethan's last field trip in his preschool career was to SEGA gymnastics.  SEGA has recently opened a new facility.  Ethan's preschool teacher, "Miss Sally", has a college aged daughter that is a gymnast and trains in this facility.  Miss Sally also works part time at SEGA.  The kids had a GREAT time and of course Ethan wants to know when he can go back!

They began on an obstacle course.  Ethan was about to slide down the slide.

This was one of his favorites.  I think he would have kept climbing if "Coach Cody" had let him.  I never knew that he could climb SO fast!

Ethan and Kara.  He was about to swing off into the foam pit.

And he's off

Right before he let go
I can't believe he is almost done with preschool.  It seems like he just started yesterday.

Flooding

Just so that we can remember what was going on many years from now I think that it is important to include a post about the recent flooding in our area.  Luckily we have not been affected by it but so many people have.  Here are some pictures....some that I took and some that I have "stolen" from other people.

Mud Island

This is on Collierville-Arlington down from our house.  It is the bridge across the Wolf River.

Normally cars are parked in this area and people are fishing.

This is a service entrance for 385 construction.

This is how close the river got to the subdivisions down the street from our house.

Fun with Photoshop

SO I have had my photoshop stuff for about a year and a half now and have never gotten to play with it.  I could sit ALL day and play with this stuff.  Just to give you an idea of how much difference it can make I am going to post some before and after pictures.  I am sure that by the time my kids are my age there will be some greater invention!

Of course.....nothing comes with instructions anymore so this was all done by playing around with it and watching some tutorials on youtube.  I am always amazed at what can be found on youtube.  I can't wait to play around some more!

Ethan's April Field Trip

In April Ethan's preschool class took a field trip to the Collierville Town Square.  They have been learning about all the buildings and businesses.  I was asked to go and was afraid that I wouldn't be able to because of my back issues.  They were planning on walking and I was not able to walk really well at that time.  Luckily, four and five year olds can't walk very fast so it wasn't a problem.  They had alot of fun.  They got to tour the whole fire station and Ethan even got to try on a fireman's helmet.  Before leaving they had cookies from the Silver Caboose restaurant to snack on.

Ethan Playing Soccer

Running Fast!

After the game
As I said before, I was unable to go to Ethan's first soccer game so I have taken plenty of pictures since then.  His little team cracks me up.

I'm a Failure!

So much for keeping this blog up to date! HA!  Well guess I will give it another go.  I have now had my back surgery and finshed school.....THANK GOD!  No more school for me until July and can't go back to work until June so maybe I will be able to catch up some!

Quick Little Funny

SO Joseph is such a sweet kid but he doesn't think too well sometimes.  He came to me and asked if I could record him playing his guitar so that he could post it on Facebook.  He said that he has a friend that played a song on his guitar and posted it.  Bless his heart.....this would be an alright idea if Joseph could actually play the guitar and if he actually had a guitar.  He has a guitar that looks like a soccer ball and it only has 2 strings left on it.  I had to explain to him that it wasn't a good idea because he would very likely get made fun of.  After explaining it to him he then thought it was funny and we (of course) had to take some pictures.  Unfortunately for Joseph, Chloe (supersonic ears) overheard the discussion so she had to get in on the fun!

I did tell him though that if he WANTED to learn to play the guitar we could maybe for a birthday or Christmas get an actual REAL guitar and take some lessons to learn to play.
